Chopta Deoria Tal Trek

Chopta is a valley full of evergreen trees and is surrounded by forests and mountains. The place also has vast stretches of green land which are called as Bugyals. It is situated in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand and is considered as one of the best hill stations not only of Uttarakhand but also of India. The Chopta valley is the part of Kedarnath wildlife sanctuary and is close to the Kanchula Kharak Deer Sanctuary, which is the home for the famous Musk deer. Due to the lush green meadows and the pine and oak trees in the valley, the place is also called as the “Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand“. Chopta is situated at an elevation of 2600 metres above sea level and is therefore very cool and pleasant even in the summer months. It is popularly known as the base camp for the Chopta Deoria Tal Trek.

Tunagnth Temple is the highest Shiva temple in the world and is one of the five and the highest Panch Kedar Temples located in the mountain range of Tungnath in Rudraprayag district, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The temple is believed to be 1000 yr old.

Chandrashila temple or peak is just 1.5km far from Tunagnth Temple. It is situated 4000m above sea level. Chandrashila peak gives you amazing 360 degree view of the Chaukhamba, Kedarnath and Trishul Peak.
