Chopta is a valley full of evergreen trees and is surrounded by forests and mountains. The place also has vast stretches of green land which are called as Bugyals. It is situated in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand and is considered as one of the best hill stations not only of Uttarakhand but also of India. The Chopta valley is the part of Kedarnath wildlife sanctuary and is close to the Kanchula Kharak Deer Sanctuary, which is the home for the famous Musk deer. Due to the lush green meadows and the pine and oak trees in the valley, the place is also called as the “Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand“. Chopta is situated at an elevation of 2600 metres above sea level and is therefore very cool and pleasant even in the summer months. It is popularly known as the base camp for the Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila Trek.
Tungnath temple, which means Lord of the peaks is the world’s highest Shiva temple situated at a height of about 3500 metres above sea level. The Tungnath temple is one of the five Panch Kedars. It is believed that the temple was built by the Pandavas to worship Shiva to ask for forgiveness for killing their cousins and Guru in the battle of Mahabharata. The temple has a great spiritual significance and people visit here to seek blessings and for fulfilment of their wishes. Trek to Tungnath starts from Chopta valley and can easily be completed in 3-4 hours.
Located at a further 1 Km distance above Tungnath is the Chandrashila peak. Chandrashila means Moon rock. It is believed that the Moon God meditated there. Situated at a height of 3700 metres above sea level, the peak offers great views of the entire Himalayan range in all directions. Nanda Devi and Chaukhambha peaks are clearly visible from the top on a clear day. The views of the sunrise and sunset from Chandrashila are also amazing and are worth seeing. People also meditate here for experiencing spiritual bliss and spend time here admiring the natural beauty from the peak.
Rohini bugyal is a small meadow in between the chopta rhododendron forest. It has some amazing views of Kedar dome and Kala Parvat peaks. Hidden in the dense forest of Chopta Valley, it is one of the most peaceful spots. You can pamper your eyes, heart, mind and soul with a spectacular view of lofty peaks and forests.
The chirping of birds and sound of wind whistling through the forest trees are all you can hear. Spotting a variety of Himalayan birds from this camp is no Herculean task. It is a good idea to carry binoculars to observe birds here.
Distance of 22 Kms from Chopta is Deoria Lake or Deoria Tal. It is believed that the God came here for bathing. The lake is surrounded by forests and snow covered peaks. One gets to view the Chaukhamba peak’s reflection in the crystal clear water of the lake. The lake is situated at an altitude of 2430 metres and can be reached by trekking a distance of 3.5 Kms from Sari village. Sari village can be easily reached by shared taxis from Chopta or Ukhimath. The weather of Deoriatal is similar to that of Chopta and the lake completely freezes during the winter months.
Day 01: Pickup from Rishikesh. Arrive at our Chopta campsite(Himalaya Resort)
Check in to your respective rooms in the Tents and relax with a cup of hot tea. Chopta is situated in the Kedarnath Wild Life Sanctuary and so is abundant in flora and fauna. This place has amazing views of the Himalayas and the Valley. Explore the area nearby and capture the beautiful sunset in your cameras.
The evenings get really chilly in Chopta. Enjoy a bowl of soup and snacks while we arrange bonfire and dinner gets ready. After dinner retire in your tents.

Day 02: Trek to world highest shiva temple and chandrashila peak (4000 Meter).
After breakfast trek to Tungnath with packed lunch. Tungnath is situated at the height of 3680 mts from the sea level. The trek is three kms upward. Enroute you will find lush green meadows and you can see the range of snowcapped Himalayas. Chandrashila peak height of 4000 mts from the sea level, offers the view of Nanda Devi , the highest peak in India. Return in the evening for a god night’s rest.

Day 03: Rohini Bugyal Trek
Third day start trek to Deoriatal from Chopta via RohiniBugyal. It is a distance of 14km and trekking time is approx 7-8 hrs. After walking a beautiful trek, you finally reach Deoriatal. Night stay at Deoria lake side camp.

Day 04: Deoria taal to Sari Village to Rishikesh Drop
Have breakfast trek down 3.5km to reach sari Village and drive to Rishikesh and drop at Rishikesh, your tour end here.

Yes, but only via solar generator. Chopta comes under Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary Area, so there is no electricity in entire Chopta region. Will provide you electricity only in night times.
