Chandrashila –(The Moon Rock)The trek to Tungnath temple is incomplete if you don’t visit Chandrashila. The Moon Rock (chandrashila) is the closest you can get to experience pure bliss, beauty and tranquillity anywhere on Mother Earth. According to stories here, the Moon God meditated here and this is how it got its name. It is also said that Lord Rama also meditated here after killing Ravana. I have been to many Himalayan summits but there is something special and different about Chandrashila. The air here seems completely pure and divine. I have meditated here at sunrise and also at sunset and it seemed that I was transported to a different place as if I was in trance. This is one place where one must visit and stay for some time to actually experience what Chandrashila is.
